Parts & Order Hub

Design, purchasing, the shop floor and suppliers each keep their own copy of the parts list. When something changes, the copies drift, and the mistake shows up as a wrong order or a missing part. Parts & Order Hub keeps one list, compares every update with the last one, and stops for a person when a change looks wrong.

EXAMPLE SCENARIO

A custom equipment builder with a designer, a buyer, a shop lead and six suppliers

BEFORE

  • Parts lists emailed around as spreadsheets, version unknown
  • Suppliers quoting from an old revision
  • Order dates chased by phone

  • Every update compared with the last; unusual changes wait for approval
  • Order-by dates worked out from the build schedule

SIGNS YOU NEED THIS

  • You've ordered the wrong revision of a part
  • Suppliers ask which version is current
  • The buyer hears about design changes after the fact
  • Nobody can say what's ordered, received or late

USEFUL FOR

  • Small manufacturers
  • Custom builders & fabricators
  • Contract assembly
  • Construction subcontractors
